Boston Wedding Photographer | The Shabby Chic Photo Project.

shabby chic project

I have been inspired! There is a certain feeling and emotion that I want to achieve in my photographic work. I am feeler. My husband is a thinker. Most things make me feel a certain way and that is how I make my decisions in life (well, mostly). Most days I walk away from my photographic work and think, “I could be so much better, but how?” How do I invest my photographs with emotion? It’s all a work in progress. I know I can’t be as amazing as my favorite photographers, but I sure will strive to get there and hopefully someday I will arrive. Although, I don’t think I will ever truly ‘arrive.’ There is always sometime to improve.

That is why I am doing my first “Shabby Chic Project.” This project is designed to produce the type of photos I have been striving for. Truth is, I love vintage everything! If I had all the money in the world, I would have a decked-out shabby chic house. I love it. For this reason, I want my work saturated with the emotion I feel when I look at vintage style photos.

I hope to do several free photo sessions with models who also embrace the vintage vibe. I am looking for subjects who have a vintage wardrobe available. I hope to hear from you. This search will be open until the end of May. I will contact you if you are chosen. Thank you for your interest.

sue venables - I know how you feel, I have been trying to achieve the same thing in my photos. I recently did an engagement shoot which had a vintage theme and feel. There’s something about using vintage props which engenders the photographs with a narrative and emotion which can’t be replicated. Good luck with your shoots.

Mandy - oh if only you had this chair still. And i would love to be your model…
